OUR STORY

The American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science – Georgia (ASCLS-GA) is a constituent society of The American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS).

ASCLS-GA was established as a platform for interaction among Georgia laboratory professionals. ASCLS-GA seeks to represent the issues of laboratories, both large and small, urban and rural, from across the state. We advocate for the advancement of all the laboratory professions, quality in laboratory services, and healthcare that is safe, effective, equitable, and patient centered.

OUR PURPOSE

ASCLS-GA exists to:

  • Promote standards in clinical laboratory methods and research and in affiliated fields.
  • Enhance the professional status and image of its members.
  • Create mutual understanding and cooperation among ASCLS-GA and its members and all others who are engaged in the interest of individual and public health.
  • Be responsible for providing educational programs in the clinical laboratory and related sciences and defining standards of competence at all levels.
  • Be responsible for determining entry level requirements and providing for appropriate credentialing.
  • Represent the interest of the clinical laboratory and affiliated professions and the members of ASCLS-GA in all government and other forums that affect those interests.
  • Establish and promote ethical standards for the professions represented.
  • Provide aid and benefit to all members of said professions.

    Hello Georgia Laboratory Professionals!

    ASCLS GA will be sponsoring a booth at the Atlanta Science Festival again this year on Saturday March 23rd. We will be show casing the medical laboratory and just how we put the pieces of the puzzle together to find the "Diagnosis" for the patients we serve. We would love for you to come volunteer with us!

    All volunteers will receive a free T shirt! If you can't volunteer but would like to purchase a T shirt that is an option as well.

    Come join in the fun sharing science and help encourage kids to explore Medical Laboratory Science!

    Reach out with any questions and of course we will need your T shirt size!

    Our new ASCLS-GA Web Page is coming soon and we are working to update all aspects of how we can keep you current and up to date on news in our state. We would love for you to send us Photo's of your Lab groups, your students, and any activities, new instruments, celebrations, etc. We want to place "YOU" in the Spotlight!
